Ad and tracker blocking across your network.
BuckDNS filters DNS requests for the phones, computers, televisions and other devices configured to use your server.
Configure devices to use BuckDNS
Install BuckDNS on supported Linux or Windows hardware, then configure your router or devices to use its DNS address. The filtering policy applies to requests that actually reach BuckDNS. Devices using another DNS service or their own encrypted resolver can bypass that path.
DNS filtering does not require a browser extension or a separate application on each client. Keep the administration interface on a trusted network and review your router and client configuration after setup.
Choose lists and exceptions
Use maintained blocklists and your own rules to block advertising and tracking domains. Review query reporting when a needed service stops working, and add an appropriate exception after checking the domain involved.
Filtering operates at the domain level. It cannot remove every advertisement, distinguish every page element or replace browser protections. A blocked DNS request is not a count of unique people or completed tracking events.
Combine filtering with full DNS management
BuckDNS includes recursive resolution, forwarding, authoritative zones, caching and synchronized settings. You can choose how requests are resolved while retaining the same filtering controls.
Review installation reporting in the privacy notice. Local query reporting and required installation reporting are different parts of the product.
